Goldroast Coffee Apologizes Dylan Wang over Livestream Host Issue


Yesterday on Oct 21, Goldroast Coffee has officially announced that they have appointed Wang Hedi (Dylan Wang) as their brand spokesperson.


They released a commercial film and Wang Hedi's studio shared the behind the scenes photos as well.



When a new brand endorser has been appointed, it is a unspoken ritual for fans to purchase the product to prove the brands that their idol has the commercial value. Wang Hedi fans did the same with Goldroast by placing order of the product.


However, in the Goldroast's very own livestream sales session, their host mentioned that Wang Hedi's fans returned 30,000 orders by revealing the screenshot on her phone.




In the clip, the host repeated that she "is not talking nonsense and viewers can check it themselves".

Taking this as a slander to the actor who rose to further fame from the recent drama "Love between Fairy and Devil", fans urged the brand to issue a statement that the claim from the host is false. They also stated that those who returned it were not the fans of Wang Hedi and the amount of returned goods from the fans were a lot lesser than what the host mentioned.


Goldroast finally issued a statement on their Weibo not in the industry-standard format of an image with the organization's seal.  The statement mentions neither about the returned goods nor if the host made a false statement. Her behaviour was dubbed as "unprofessional".

Recently, the unprofessional behavior of an achor in the live broadcast session of Goldroas brand affected consumers' purchasing experience and caused trouble to Mr. Wang Hedi, the brand spokesperson. Goldroast expresses its sincere apologies to all consumers and Mr. Wang Hedi.


Mr. Wang Hedi is a friendly partner of Goldroast brand, and both parties recognize and respect each other. After the incident, our company immediately terminated the cooperative relationship with the anchor, and rectified the live broadcast session as soon as possible.


In the future, Goldroast brand will continue to maintain friendly cooperation with Mr. Wang Hedi, continue to uphold the original intention, and give back to the consumers with high-quality products and sincere services.
