[First Impression] Light Chaser Rescue | First-Paced and Intriguing with Great Production

This is the first impression based on the first three episodes of the drama.

"Light Chaser Rescue" has premiered on October 14!

While this is the third collaboration between Luo Yunxi (Leo Luo) and Wu Qian (Janice Wu), this is the first ever drama to see them both as leads.

Unlike a cliché romance drama, this is about an emergency rescue team with Luo Yunxi playing the lawyer Luo Ben and Wu Qian staring the doctor Zhan Yan.

Right after portraying the main characters background in the first episode, the interesting inciting incident aka the earthquake happened in the episode 2. It means you don't need to get yourself to enjoy the drama as it will make itself irresistible for the next episode.

Acting wise, Wu Qian has improved a great deal! While she proves her acting through the hit drama like The Brightest Star in the Sky, we feel she fits even better in such serious role. This is yet another drama where we can see that she is not only a cute material but also a perfect fit for the characters with depth. Her line delivery is clear and emotional, too. 

For Luo Yunxi, while his acting can be said great when he's alone, it feels as though he is making more effort than he needs and it makes his acting a little bit over-the-top, especially when he is in the same frame with other actors. On a side note, we think gaining a healthy weight wouldn't harm for Luo Yunxi's visual on screen!

The script? Finally a great script with popular actors. It is not simply about a lawyer and a doctor joining hands for a rescue effort, none of the characters would make you feel like they are fillers. 

From Luo Ben (Luo Yunxi)'s sister Luo Yuan (Yang Anqi) who can't speak and her potential partner Xu Shaoying (Xiong Fei) who is also an original member of the rescue team to the side couple of Ding Ding (Li Tingting), who is Zhan Yan (Wu Qian)'s cousin and Zhou Mingming (Li Mingde) who probably is the eye candy of the drama, all the characters have their own unique stories that contribute to the drama. 

Also, the side couple is refreshing part of the drama as the main couple wouldn't be bickering much given their more serious background. Icing on the cake is none of them is bad at acting!

Last but not least, the production! As usual with Croton's involvement, the production quality is just perfect in this "Light Chaser Rescue" drama. Sets and camera angles look all fine. From the earthquake scenes to the operation room, we can't wait to see the snow and storm it would bring in the upcoming episodes.

All in all, this is a drama we would be following and we recommend you to do so. And we love the ending OST by Liu Yuning!
